Static Shift Mechanical & Electrical Engineer – £36k – Liverpool, Merseyside
Job Overview
- Work collaboratively as part of the estates team, to provide a full operation, maintenance, engineering and building Mechanical service. Which meets statutory and contractual obligations.
- Work efficiently and effectively to deliver assigned planned and reactive maintenance.
- Use PDA technology to evidence compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, and personal productivity.
- Carry out diagnostic checks and fault-finding utilising multiskilled knowledge and experience supporting all estates teams within your own qualifications and or abilities.
- Complete all work-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support Trust staff, patients and visitor to the facilities ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Working a Continental Shift Pattern. 12 hour days & nights.
Main Duties
- Support your Line Manager in all commercial aspects of the services ensuring statutory and contract compliance.
- To Assume the position of Authorised Person Mechanical
- To provide on-call support as part of a ON Call Rota.
- Ensure assets work properly, are maintained in accordance with the contract, relevant Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), Health Building Memoranda (HBM), Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&M), and Manufacturer’s Instructions; and maintained in a good state of repair, evidenced by accurate and complete equipment repair and maintenance CAFM records.
- Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
- Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.
- Review and propose recommendations to improve productivity and the efficiency of set routines and work schedules with your line manager.
- Perform related duties as assigned, within your scope of practice. All employees who work in the Estates department are expected to cover for each other during holidays, leave or absences.
- Pro-active and positive approach to work.
- Must have sound interpersonal skills and pay attention to detail.
- Presented in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company, in the most professional manner possible, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
- Provide excellent customer service to the client and patients / visitors, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
- Ensure clients operational procedures are always adhered to.
- Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client’s representative as and when required.
- Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20kg.
- Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment; able to work at height.
- Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.
What we are looking for
- The ideal candidate will have the relevant C&G, BTEC Level 3, ONC/OND or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical discipline
- Be qualified and/or trained in other building service disciplines including HVAC and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in a building service environment.
- 18th edition ideally but 17th edition would be advantageous.
- To assume the position of Authorised Person Mechanical.
- Excellent Engineering background Experience in a maintenance environment, hospital experience is advantageous.
- Highly motivated and driven by social responsibility to achieve the highest levels of delivery in a healthcare environment
- Confident, with the ability to work under pressure in a calm and positive way
- Excellent people and communication skills with the ability to express your thoughts clearly, whether written or spoken
- A dedicated team player with an enthusiastic personality
