Static HVAC Engineer
Location: Knightsbridge
Salary: £55,000
Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off (07.30 – 19:30)
The Principal BMS and HVAC Technician will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for undertaking works in respect to the operation, maintenance and repair of the BMS and HVAC Systems within the Knightsbridge store and associated buildings. In addition, this role will be required to respond to operational incidents, via BMS alarms and Faults reporting system where Engineering assistance is required. This role will work at night and be supported by night technicians.

Responsibilities:
- To plan, manage and execute the day-to-day operation of the BMS and HVAC team, ensuring everything is working and set to deliver a great experience for our customers. Systems to manage include BMS, Chillers, Cooling towers, Air conditioning, Air Handling Unit (AHU), Ventilation fans.
- Possess technical knowledge and experience in all types of refrigeration and refrigerant based AC and chiller systems used in the store, including associated controllers.
- To manage the Harrods BMS and HVAC technicians and external specialist suppliers to deliver planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
- To control, monitor and prioritise all work schedules, in accordance with the FM System procedures ensuring the BMS and HVAC team meet the KPI’s and SLA’s
- To supervise the welfare of the BMS and HVAC Engineers who will cover a variety of duties.
- To ensure that all of the Technician’s work is in line with industry best practice adhering to relevant Health and Safety Regulations and any other Legal requirements.
- To report and escalate any issues to the Engineering and Building Services Senior Management Team
- Prioritise workload and resources as appropriate to any risk to the business operation, especially where concurrent problems occur.
- Advise in the development of PPM schedules, including a continuous review of maintenance procedures and periods.
- Ensure asset registers are regularly updated and work with the Help Desk Manager to ensure all equipment requiring planned and reactive maintenance are accurately detailed on the PPM system.
- Make comment on project proposals, assist in any acceptance inspections and testing
- To decommission and install replacement equipment [where necessary] to a high calibre workmanship.
- Assist colleagues on other technical duties as required by the Engineering department.
- Liaise with internal food safety management in respect to maintaining produce temperatures.
- To act as a role model for the rest of the team, ensuring standards of work performance are maintained and regularly reviewed. This will include documented performance reviews and one to one checks in.
- To ensure that all colleagues understand and uphold the company values and any under performance is appropriately managed through the correct company policies.
Requirements:
- Hold Suitable Electrical/Mechanical/HVAC/Refrigeration qualifications to demonstrate desired levels of competence.

- The role is a 4 on 4 off shift rotation, with a requirement to carry out permanent night shifts throughout the year. (07:30-19:30)
- Suitably qualified to a minimum C&G level and conversant in the field of: HVAC/Electrical Installation and repair/General Mechanical works/General Pipefitting & Plumbing
- Fully conversant with all BS and relevant regulations.
